April Kubovcsak of Alcon Research, Ltd. delivers a Mother's Day snack bag to a resident at Episcopal House.
Employees from United Way's Top 10 and Top 100 companies recently donated snack items and created special care packages for the seniors at Episcopal House in Reading in honor of Mother's Day and Father's Day.
The activity, which was held in conjunction with Berks Encore, was a special opportunity for volunteers not only to provide much-needed items to the seniors, but also to spend quality time with some of the residents. The activities gave the volunteers a better understanding of why their efforts are so important and gave them the opportunity to see first-hand the impact of their work.
